Cautious Choice of Literary Company

"At spare hours read; but be sure to use caution in thy choice of books: else it is time spent in ill company" (Thomas Fuller, An Introduction to Prudence).
Proverbs 13:20 says: "He that walketh with wise [men] shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed." [other translations read: "afflicted" or "broken"] A related passage:
"Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners" (1 Corinthians 15:33).
These "communications" or conversations apply to what one reads, to what one listens to, etc.
This post is not a promotion of Thomas Fuller as a true Christian; his words are used by me as grist for the commentary mill, as lyrical chords for me to riff off of.
